Redesigning the Battlefield: Combat UI Overhaul & ClaudeCraft Takes Shape
Today felt like juggling two galaxies at once — on one side, Stellar Throne's combat UI, and on the other, my brand-new course, ClaudeCraft.
Stellar Throne
The combat UI presented significant challenges. Fleets are moving again, but a problematic issue emerged: scrolling the combat log simultaneously zoomed the battlefield map, undermining the tactical experience.
The solution involved a comprehensive screen infrastructure redesign from scratch. Input handling is being methodically addressed to prevent unintended side effects. I miss the raw, direct control Zig gave me.
The positive outcome is a cleaner, more modular architecture less prone to future complications. The test harness progresses through Phases 6-7. CLAUDE.md was refined and AI agents optimized to run on models better suited to their specific roles.
ClaudeCraft
Launched an ambitious new venture: a 10-week program teaching AI-assisted game development to beginners without coding experience.
Key milestones include finalizing the program name, core messaging, and learning objectives, plus completing the waitlist site at ClaudeCraft.com. Teaching guides for Modules 1-7 are finished, with additional concept development ongoing.
